7. Gegen den Wind Triathlon 03.07.2010

A hot summer day made this challenging course even more difficult for the 461 athletes who raced in the seventh edition of the Gegen den Wind Triathlon in Sankt Peter-Ording.
Sebastian Zeller dominated the race winning with a time of 1:59:35.
The race had a beach start and greeted the triathletes with warm and smooth water, although strong currents and sections of shallow waters were the main features of the swim leg.
The bike leg had sufficiently strong winds to make the flat 10 km loop more technical while the heat made the athletes work extra hard on the beautiful as well as tough run course that meanders through stretches of sand and wood trails.
Throughout the day both athletes and the cheering crowed enjoyed the extra entertainment activities, food, and music present at the finish line on the beach.
